THE HOUSE
Back to basics
A restored Aranese house dating back to 1876, respecting its original character: wood, stone, and history. Accommodation for up to 18 people in Es Bordes, where the mountains begin just beyond the door.
Discover the house
It's not luxury. It's restored authenticity.
In 1876, when the Val d'Aran was still isolated from the rest of the peninsula, this house was built, which later became the town hall. Stone from the nearby mountains and wood from the valley's forests shaped a building that today, almost 150 years later, has been restored to its former glory.
For decades, the house witnessed the transformations of the valley: from a high mountain farming and livestock society to mining, the arrival of electricity, the opening of the Vielha tunnel, the evolution of a rural society into a community that knew how to preserve its identity while opening up to the world.
Today, we wanted to bring it back to life while respecting its essence. Every beam, every stone, every corner tells a story that you can now experience.
Today, Es Deth Baile remains what it always was: a solid, peaceful, and honest house. Open and designed for enjoying your stay. Because some stories don't need embellishment. They just need to be lived.
Experiencing the mountains begins with the accommodation.
In a valley open to the Atlantic and surrounded by some of the highest peaks in the Pyrenees.
THE EXPERIENCE
Here you come to be
Wake up in the valley. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Go for a walk, a bike ride, or skiing. Return to the house, light the fireplace, and share the day. Es Deth Baile doesn't want to separate the accommodation from the mountain. It wants to be part of it.
Living Is Deth Dance

A house to share time
With family. With friends. As a couple. Rooms to have your own space and a common house to meet around a table, by the fire or after a day in the mountains.
Fewer things. More time together.
THE PLACE
A village. A whole valley surrounding it.
Es Deth Baile is located in Es Bordes, in the Aran Valley. From here, paths, roads, forests, and mountain trails begin. Baqueira Beret, the great Pyrenean mountain passes, and some of the valley's most unique landscapes are all part of the area surrounding the house.

Restore without deleting.
The house is being brought back to life while respecting its architecture, materials, and history. We don't want to turn an old house into something new. We want it to remain the same, but adapted to the 21st century.
